The MCNA Provider Relations team welcomes our Iowa providers to join us for a monthly morning drop-in opportunity. Emergency dental services are immediate services that must be provided to relieve a member from pain, an acute infection, swelling, trismus, fever, or trauma. Iowa Medicaid members are always eligible for these services and they are excluded from the member’s Annual Benefit Maximum (ABM). Please read our provider bulletin to learn more and review important reminders about filing claims for these services.

Effective November 15, 2024, MCNA has implemented the use of CDT code D9997 (dental case management – patients with special health care needs) to appropriately identify members with special needs. For more information regarding the use of D9997, please review our latest provider bulletin.

We have updated our Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs). MCNA's approved CPGs can be found under the "Guides and Tools" section of our website and the "Support and Downloads" page in the Provider Portal.
